Description
KETTY GUN – “ELITE” MODEL: 21
The Ketty Gun Legend! The Elite series is a stunning, fully CNC precision-machined unit made from aircraft aluminium. It comes with 10 mm stainless steel load-bearing bars, a trigger mechanism, a high-rise standard Picatinny rail, a ventilated ergo grip and a generous fork (9 cm inner arch). It is available in bright red, glossy black or polished aluminium. The loading mechanism is sturdy with a safe and reliable easy-to-use locking system.
Size: At only 2,35 kg, this model is lightweight – the perfect balance between elegance and power, with up to 8x 6 mm elastic tubes and multiple flat bands. At 55 cm folded the unit is quite compact when the tension bars and folding stock are retracted and only 95 cm maximum extended.
The ELITE is the refined CNC version – of the alu cast big-bore African KETTY GUN (model 25) option at 3,15 kg. It has the same basic design metrics, at 55 cm folded the unit is quite compact when the tension bars and folding stock are retracted and only 95 cm maximum extended.
In the kit: Gun assembly complete, 2 x band sets – 4 tubes (can run flat bands – suggestion 1 – 1.2 mm natural latex)
Dual Elastic – can use both – Flatbands and Tubes.
Ammo: Steel only 8mm with light bands – 9 – 9.5 mm with optimal bands.
Sights: Recommendation – Red dot / Reflex
Easy to use: These KETTY GUN models are very easy to operate without any strain, even at maximum tension. Simply press and release the tension bars, load up the pouch with ammo, hook it in the trigger mechanism, and then use the front foot pedal to load the tension on the elastic bands. What I like about these kettie guns is that you can tune the power; simply reduce the number of elastic bands to two only or reduce the diameter of the tubes or the thickness of the flat bands to suit your needs and your ammo requirements for indoor or outdoor shooting.
“Safety first”: Always wear eye protection. Kettie guns are becoming so popular that they will be included in SASF (South African Slingshot Federation) national exhibition events from 2025!
The rest of the world calls them “slingshot rifles”, while in Southern Africa, we refer to them as “kettie guns”. This is a modern take on the old traditional kettie as we all know it. Add a stock, trigger and aiming device, and you have transformed your resilient kettie into a precision speed machine! A good comparison would be the difference and practicality between a bow (kettie) and a crossbow (kettie gun). The concept is certainly not new, but technological advancements bring the kettie gun into its rightful own. It is easy to master, reasonably affordable, no licensing requirements and therefore pretty much accessible to all.
It is a great family activity, a brilliant training and education platform for community development, and a thoughtful alternative, to perhaps air rifles. “Wow! What is that?” This is the reaction you will get every time!
Easy to kinker with, and – pimp up!
